Imperial aims to become the most environmentally friendly plating company in the Chicago-Metropolitan area. Walt Kozlowski, our water treatment and environmental consultant, and Sofia Kuziel, our environmental specialist, have assisted Imperial Plating in making the following achievements possible:
• Consistently conserve 1.2 million gallons or more of water per year.
• Reuse all packaging possible.
• Promoting and transitioning to more eco-friendly finishes (such as trivalent chrome).
Imperial Plating has consistently produced high-quality plating over the course of the environmental program, and has even made enhancements as opportunity has presented itself.
Imperial maintains cleanliness requirements that are higher than what is demanded of plating companies. We accomplish this by:
• Conducting weekly inspections pertaining to environmental qualities.
• Inspecting inside and outside property frequently.
• Keeping all areas of our plant organized in order to keep all produced waste at a minimum.
Along with recycling our typical waste through designated bins, we have further done the following while upholding high standards for packaging and finishing:
• Recycle and reuse treated wastewater.
• Recycle and reuse rainwater.
• Continuously look for new opportunities to conserve water and energy.
This is a program that is working towards addressing climate change and we are implementing this into our company as much as possible. Although you may only be interested in Imperial as a service, this also helps you. In addition to helping slow the effects of climate change, it can be a selling point for you as our customer to your customers. We continue to support good environmental stewardship because at Imperial, we are concerned with improving the environment.
